Our projects

MindSpeak Project
Digital mental healthcare interventions (DMHIs) have been repeatedly mentioned as a possible solution for the growing demand for accessible treatment for patients suffering from common mental health problems (i.e., depression and anxiety disorders). NiceDay’s DMHIs platform has been academically verified as an effective tool for treating depression or anxiety disorders.
Our role:This platform will be improved thanks to Kairntech by adding state-of-the-art NLP technologies to add new language-based capabilities to enhance productivity while improving treatment efficiency.
Nemo Project
The EU and NATO are driving the digital transformation of defence through strategies that accelerate responsible innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies. While some solutions are already mature, Human Language Technologies (HLTs) still require further development to be fully operational in defence.
The NEMO project addresses this gap by delivering a high-performance HLT demonstrator for EU Member States and Associated Countries, designed for rapid deployment and intuitive, user-driven adaptation.
Our role: Kairntech is responsible for the research and development of the NEMO module on Information Extraction and Retrieval, including Named Entity Recognition (NER), text classification, event detection, summarisation, and question answering.

Commute Project
The COMMUTE project investigates mechanisms shared between the COVID-19 disease and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The project aims at improving the understanding what happens to us after COVID-19 infection. Studying the effects of COVID-19 on the nervous system can provide new insights into the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. It may help scientists understand the underlying processes and identify potential targets for prevention or treatment.
Our role: Kairntech contributes AI-based approaches for a “text2graph” analysis of relevant scientific literature, automatically creating Knowledge Graphs from the evidence described in scientific content.
Vital Project
The VITAL project aims to explore innovative ways to produce annotated data while achieving the best balance between quality, cost, and development time.
Our role: These capabilities are then implemented as prototypes on the Kairntech platform for evaluation.
The project focuses in particular on active learning, which involves dynamically guiding annotation based on the model’s difficulties, across standard NLP tasks (such as named entity recognition and classification) and in languages with varying levels of available resources, including Arabic and Urdu.

Our partnerships
Anticiper partnership
The Anticiper platform is an AI-augmented application designed to help project leaders, managers, and decision-makers regain the initiative and facilitate decision-making when dealing with complex cases or uncertain markets. Its objective is to bridge the gap between the complexity of reality and current analytical capabilities by enabling teams to collect, structure, and qualify essential information using a collaborative analysis grid. Ultimately, the tool aims to measure risks and compare options to transform scattered information into strategic recommendations and concrete action plans.

BPI partnership
Kairntech benefits from financial support through a partnership with Bpifrance, supporting the development of its innovative projects.
