🇫🇷 Ministry of the Armed Forces Defence RAG Entity Linking

EvalLLM 2026 Challenge

Kairntech reached the podium in both challenges of EvalLLM 2026, an independent AI competition organized by AMIAD — the AI agency of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. Its goal: to benchmark, in a fully neutral way, the best AI technologies on two capabilities our clients rely on every day — Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) on defence-domain documents, and Entity Linking on health-surveillance bulletins.

Our results

Kairntech ranked 1st in raw performance on both RAG source attribution (out of 20 systems) and Entity Linking (out of 7 teams). After the competition’s frugality adjustments (open-source technologies, CO₂ footprint, computing resources), Kairntech finished 2nd in RAG retrieval & generation, and 3rd in both RAG source attribution and Entity Linking.

MediaGen

The MediaGen project aims to design, develop, evaluate, and disseminate a set of reliable multimodal generative AI solutions for journalism and information. In a sector where content quality and verifiability are critical, MediaGen places auditability at the heart of its approach.

Our role

Kairntech’s technologies are integrated at every stage of the project to compare and evaluate solutions, and to ensure the final quality of the tools produced.

Mental health Clinical AI & NLP

MindSpeak Project

Digital Mental Health Interventions (DMHIs) represent a promising response to the growing demand for accessible treatments for depression and anxiety disorders. NiceDay’s DMHI platform has been academically validated as an effective tool in this context.

Our role

The platform will be enriched through Kairntech by integrating cutting-edge AI and NLP technologies, adding new language capabilities to improve productivity and therapeutic efficacy.

🇪🇺 European Defence Fund Defence Human Language Technology

Nemo Project

The European Defence Fund supports the digital transformation of defence via strategies that accelerate innovation. The NEMO project addresses this challenge by delivering a high-performance HLT (Human Language Technology) demonstrator for member states, designed for rapid deployment and intuitive adaptation by users.

Our role

Kairntech is responsible for R&D of the module dedicated to information extraction, supervised and unsupervised classification, event detection, automatic summarization, and finally, question & answering systems.

Health & Neuroscience Knowledge Graph

Commute Project

The COMMUTE project explores the shared mechanisms between COVID-19 disease and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Analyzing the effects of COVID-19 on the nervous system opens new avenues for understanding underlying processes and identifying therapeutic targets.

Our role

Kairntech provides AI-based approaches for “text2graph” analysis of scientific literature, automatically creating knowledge graphs from data derived from scientific publications.

Vital Project

The VITAL project explores innovative approaches to produce annotated data by striking the best balance between quality, cost, and development time. It focuses on active learning—dynamically guiding annotation based on model difficulty—on standard NLP tasks and in low-resource languages (Urdu, Farsi).

Our role

These capabilities are then implemented as prototypes on the Kairntech platform for evaluation. This project is the result of a partnership between the ERTIM laboratory (INALCO) and Kairntech.

Anticiper

The Anticiper platform is an AI-augmented application designed to help project managers, executives, and decision-makers regain initiative and facilitate decision-making in complex cases or uncertain markets.

Its goal: bridge the gap between the complexity of reality and current analytical capabilities, by allowing teams to collect, structure, and qualify essential information via a collaborative analysis grid.

The tool aims to measure risks and compare options to transform scattered information into strategic recommendations and concrete action plans.
